Public Affairs Practice Leader — EMEA
Herman leads the European public affairs practice, providing strategic counsel and high-level engagement. In 2008 he acted as interim Director of GSMA Europe, representing the interests of the mobile industry.
Herman has more than a decade of experience as a senior business and policy adviser to multinational companies and trade associations. He has developed an in-depth knowledge of the ICT policy agenda through his work with media, regulators, governments and EU institutions. This has forged a strong network of contacts with key decision makers in Brussels.
Herman was Head of Public Affairs for British Telecom’s Global Services, with a particular focus on its European subsidiaries and high profile engagements such as the World Economic Forum. He was also responsible for managing corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues, serving as an adviser to the board of a number of international charities.
Herman is an accomplished linguist, speaking a variety of languages: Dutch (Native), English (Fluent), German (intermediate) and French (intermediate).
